Reading Assembly
Today we had a reading assembly to wrap up our fun "March is Reading Month." Our presenter was a Michigan author Russel Slater and he read two of his books: I'm A Michigander and Eddy Elk and Mandy Moose. At the end of the assembly, the top two readers from every class were announced. We had many hours of reading in our classroom and I'm so proud of the participation from our class. Our top two readers were Klara and Colton. Way to go!

Reader's Theater at Fountain View
We made another trip to Fountain View this morning and had successful Reader's Theater presentations. These kids make me so proud! They did a great job listening and presenting! Here are some pictures:

Mystery Readers
This month we have many mystery readers lined up. Stay tuned for more pictures!
3/3: Mr. Sagorski read What I Saw in the Teachers' Lounge.
3/6: Mrs. Goodwin read The Book with No Pictures.
3/16: Mr. DeRidder read a fun book about how to catch a leprechaun.
3/20: Mrs. Richardson's mom was our mystery reader!

3/8: We had two mystery readers! Mrs. Lipski (Paige's mom) came in and read Today I Feel Silly and Ms. Bjork read Do Unto Otters.
3/9: Dr. Gamm read The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
3/10: Mrs. Richardson's sister-in-law came, Mrs. Steffes!
3/14: Cheyenne's mom, Mrs. Harris, came to read.
3/15: Mrs. Richardson's friend, Mrs. McNaughton read about Dr. Seuss' life.
3/16: Mr. DeRidder read a fun book about how to catch a leprechaun.
3/20: Mrs. Richardson's mom was our mystery reader!
3/21: We had two mystery readers today - Mr. Veldman and Mrs. Mast!
3/23: Klara's mom, Mrs. Williams came in!
3/24: Mrs. Mencarelli dressed up as Mrs. Viola Swamp and read Mrs. Nelson is Missing.
Inter-Generational Reading Buddies with Fountain View
As you know, we have our Inter-Generational Reading Buddies partnership with Fountain View Assisted Living in Coopersville. Last month, we took turns reading aloud to the residents and today we performed our reader's theater plays. I was so proud of our students. They did such a fantastic job!
